Mark opened the door to the classroom and waited for the students to sit. When there was silence, he got up from the desk and started his speech.
"Welcome to a new year here at Hogwarts. You are on your 5th year now and at the end of it, you have to take your OWL exams. Now, I won't tell you how important they are, since every other teacher will make sure to do, but i will tell you that they are so important that will make me test you once or twice in a month.
Yes, yes, I know that it will be difficult, but if you study as much as you are supposed to, you won't have any difficulties." he said looking calm and watching the students.
"Now, as a first thing today, we will studying a potion that is often required in the OWLs, the Peace Potion.
you have the ingredients on the table, I won't be helping you, I want to know how well you do without any help.
Refrain from talking to each other." he said and sat on his desk.
OOC I won't allow tardiness in my class, so make your character be there in time.

Alyssa slipped into the potions room with her classmates, and sat down at her usual seat from the previous year. She listened patiently as the professor gave them yet another speech on the importance of OWLs. Like the other teachers haven't told us any of this....she thought to herself, grumbling.
After the instructions were given, Alyssa got to work on her Peace Potion. In her cauldron, she placed the necessary herbs of Mallowsweet and crushed cedar. She added pomegranet juice for liquid, and let it simmer until the herbs had dissolved. Alyssa stirred the mixture counterclockwise three times. Next she put in two comfrey leaves, and a eucalyptus leaf (for the healing of the spirit). This time stirring clockwise three times, Alyssa gazed around the room. Her fellow students were working, and they seemed to be getting beter results than she. "Damn," she muttered. "What am I doing wrong?" Giving up and just adding the last ingredient (peppermint leaves), Alyssa kept stirring until the potion had reached full potency. Then she blew out the flame beneath her cauldron, and poured some of her potion into a vial for the professor.
Walking up to his desk and giving it to him, Alyssa said, "There you go, sir. It might not be perfect, but I did my best." She shrugged, not knowing what to say, and returned to her seat. With that, he pulled out a book on wizarding pirate history, to await the end of the class period.
