Mark opened the door to the classroom and waited for the students to enter. He waited till every body was sitting in a desk and then got up from his and started his annual speech.
"Hello and welcome to another year at Hogwarts!
This year, we will be learning on a new program. Two hours we will make a potion, based on my instructions and those of the books, and the other 2 hours, you will make me an essay about that potion and read it to the class.
This new program was inserted because in the 3rd year, we have very few new potions to study.
Also, this year you will be allowed to go to Hogsmeade, so I will often ask you to go to the apothecary and take new ingredients to study." he said.
"Today, we will examine the asphodel roots you have in your desks. As homework, I want 2 paragraphs on them. As classwork, you will take notes. That is all." He said and sat on his desk.

Giselle entered the class with all the other students and sat on one of the desks in the middle row.
She listened to the deputy headmaster explain the program of this year and was very happy to be reminded of the visits on Hogsmeade.
She examined the asphodel and took a parchment and a quill. Looking at the plant, she decided that it would be better to start from the shape and color.
Hers was yellow while the other students had white, yellow or lilac ones. The petals were pointed and kind of hard. They looked as the claws of a bird. The petals had some fluffy petals in the middle that looked like they would fall if one would shake them enough.
The roots were rhizomus ones and the height of the plant, starting from the horizontal root, was about 50 cm.
Giselle continued to take notes on her parchment.
